Gary’s career includes over 30 years in real estate sales, management and consulting work while living in Vancouver, British Columbia (BC). During that time Gary held several management positions including Regional Manager Real Estate for
Western Canada with a national financial institution.

In 1988 he was elected President of the Real Estate Board of Greater  Vancouver. In 1992 Gary was elected President of the BC Real Estate Association. In addition, he is a past President of the BC Real Estate Insurance Corporation and a past Chairperson of the Real Estate Foundation
of BC, the latter responsible for an investment portfolio exceeding
20 million dollars.

In 1980 Gary became the first Chairperson at Maracaibo Estates Ltd. on Saltspring Island BC. Maracaibo Estates includes a 400-acre waterfront subdivision and resort. It provides rental accommodation for its shareholders, a marina, tennis courts, swimming pond and over 85 residential homes
and lots.

Gary and Shelagh retired to Maracaibo on Saltspring in 2001. They have been vacationing at Napili Kai since 1967 and have been life members since 1996.
