John is the President and CEO of Nano Scale Surface Systems, Inc. in Alameda, California.  He has over 18 US Patents covering nano technology and various other technologies for semiconductors, plastics packaging, medical devices as well as the fitness industry.  John has extensive experience in starting and growing companies and has managed several companies from inception through to commercial
success.  His experience includes the development of a widely used new packaging material for The BOC Group based in England where he conceived, developed and commercialized the technology resulting in a multi-national division of the corporation. John graduated from UC Davis in Physics and from Harvard Business School. John is also the Chairman and a Founder of the Society of Vacuum Coaters Foundation (SVCF) and the Felts Family Foundation. The SVCF grants yearly scholarships to college level students and the Felts Family Foundation is focused on providing under-privileged children with opportunities in their communities through sports and related activities.

John and Linda live in Alameda, California and have two children, Christopher and Colleen.  John and Linda have been life members since 2002 and have been visiting Napili Kai for the last 25 years.
