Robert R. Barengo

Bob and his wife Tamara “Tami” Eccles Barengo were both born and raised in Reno, Nevada, which is where they still primarily reside.  Tami’s parents, Kelly and Margie Eccles, were original owners of the Kapalua Golf Villas and longtime shareholders at Napili Kai.  Bob and Tami are proud to be continuing that tradition.

Bob is a graduate of California State University East Bay.  He holds a law degree from University of Santa Clara, CA, and with extensive legislative experience has held many elected offices in Nevada that include Speaker of the Nevada Assembly and Chairman of the Legislative Commission, Speaker Pro Tempore, Chairman, Judiciary Committee and Assemblyman.  He has also served Nevada on various committees including Interim Finance, Ways and Means, Commerce and Chairman Judiciary.

Prior to opening his law firm in 1972, Bob was the Deputy District Attorney for Washoe County, Nevada. He specializes in general business, administrative, government and regulatory affairs, state legislative practice, municipal bonds and gaming laws.  Bob’s expertise has been called upon numerous times by the State of Nevada with appointments by the Governor to state government offices, boards and commissions. He is currently a commissioner for the National Conference of Commission on Uniform State Laws which he was elected a life member in 1988.  He is Martindale-Hubbell AV Preeminent Rated.

Bob’s tireless community service along with his well-rounded experience with homeowner associations, gained while serving on boards of associations where the Barengo’s own property, was elected to serve on the board of the Kapalua Golf Villas.  Bob is also a member of several organizations including Northern Nevada Network, Prospectors Club in Reno, St. Francis Yacht Club in San Francisco, University Club of San Francisco, Olympic Club of San Francisco, Lahaina Yacht Club, Knight of the Sovereign Order of St. John of Jerusalem Knights Hospitaller and Chevalier Confrerie des Chevaliers du Tastevin.  Bob also enjoys traveling to their home on Maui, skiing and boating.
